High School Students: Join the Climate & Resilience Education Task Force Youth Steering Committee

Opportunity at a Glance: The National Wildlife Federation’s Climate & Resilience Education Task Force (CRETF) invites NYC Public School High School Students to join the Youth Steering Committee. Throughout the school year, students will do the following:

  • Participate in discussions about climate change topics
  • Meet exciting guest speakers
  • Take field trips, and
  • Develop leadership and advocacy skills including public speaking, meeting facilitation, project management and lobbying

Additional Committee Details

  • Capped at 60 participants.
  • Certificates are distributed at the end of the year for community service hours.
  • Stipends may be available.
  • This program is a resume builder.

Key dates:  October 2025 to May 2026  (start time will depend on availability of majority of students).
Location: Most meetings will be virtual (on Zoom) with a number of in-person meetings and trips.
