Opportunity at a Glance: New York City, and specifically New York Harbor, is a great place for outdoor learning! Join Billion Oyster Project staff on Staten Island to practice 3 stations for waterfront learning. Participants will do the following during this training session:
- Learn about the Living Breakwaters just off the coast;
- Learn best practices for planning and preparing field-based learning experiences;
- Explore BOPs outdoor lessons, and consider how they can be used in your classroom and outside; and
- Connect with other Billion Oyster Project teachers.
This training is $20 to cover the cost of supplies that you’ll take home, and is FREE for teachers at Title 1 schools.
