Opportunity at a Glance: New York City, and specifically New York Harbor, is a great place for outdoor learning. Join Billion Oyster Project staff to practice 3 stations for waterfront learning, learn best practices for bringing students into the field, and tips to help you prepare for field teaching.
1) Learn best practices for planning and preparing field-based learning experiences
2) Explore BOPs outdoor lessons, and consider how they can be used in your classroom and outside
3) Connect with other Billion Oyster Project teachers
This training is $50 to cover the cost of supplies that you will take home, and is FREE for teachers at Title 1 schools.
Key dates: Thursday August 7 from 9:00a.m. -11:30a.m.
Location: Simultaneous trainings will be held at Brooklyn Bridge Park (Brooklyn) and Pier 40 (Manhattan)
