The Last Musician of Auschwitz: Teaching About Music During the Holocaust

Open to: All Teachers
Opportunity at a Glance: Join the Museum of Jewish Heritage and Center for Jewish History for the next part of our professional development miniseries, “The Holocaust: One Year at a Time,” with an in-depth examination of 1944-1945.

We will explore with participants the story of Anita Lasker-Wallfisch, a Holocaust survivor who played in the Auschwitz orchestra. Through primary sources, testimony, and lesson plans, we will explore pedagogy for bringing this into your classroom.
