Opportunity at a Glance: This seminar will be led by Professor John Stauffer from Harvard University. The seminar will focus on examining the role photography has had in shaping political, cultural, and social change, from the invention of the medium to the present day. Photography as a technology and as a means for propaganda and artistic expression has had a profound impact on over 150 years of American history. Participants will explore that impact on the US in wartime, reform movements, race relations, and the development and evolution of the national soul.
