Open to: Eligible Teachers Interested in Earning an Additional Students with Disabilities Certification or Bilingual Extension
Opportunity at a Glance: NYCPS is offering the NYC Extended Certification Program for fall 2026, enabling eligible current NYCPS teachers to pursue one of the following certifications through tuition-free coursework:
• An SwD certification for teachers who already have a Bilingual Extension;
• A bilingual extension for teachers who already have an SwD certification; or
• A bilingual extension for teachers at a school with an approved bilingual program.
Participants will work in their current school by day, and complete virtual coursework at night, working toward an additional certificate in one year. Participants commit to teaching in their new license for two years.
