Oyster Research Station Training

Open to: NYC teachers
Opportunity at a Glance:
The Oyster Research Station (ORS) program is one of the Billion Oyster Project’s most popular educational and community science initiatives and complements the Oyster Research Tank (ORT) program.  In ORS, teachers are trained to monitor an oyster cage in the harbor, collect data on oyster growth, survival, and biodiversity, and conduct site observations.

After completing the training, teachers are equipped to use the ORS as a hands-on teaching tool both in and out of the classroom, supported by the project’s free, inquiry-based curriculum.
