Join a bird walk for teachers

Open to: All Teachers
Opportunity at a Glance: Join STEMteachersNYC and the Linnean Society of NY for a bird walk in Central Park.  It is migration season, and many birds stop in the park for a brief respite before continuing on south to their wintering grounds.  While there are no guarantees, expect to see flycatchers, warblers, thrushes, raptors and more, possibly some very rare species too.

We will teach you how to look, use binoculars, and identify and record the species seen, and, optionally, how to translate this to your classroom.
Key dates:  Saturday October 17 from 8:15a.m. – 12:00p.m. Walk begins at 8:30am sharp.
Location: Within Central Park in Manhattan, meeting at 103rd and Central Park West
Registration deadline: 10/16/2026
