Critically Reviewing Claims Using Logical Fallacies

Open to: All Teachers. 

Opportunity at a Glance: Join this session to learn how to teach our students to be savvy analyzers and critical readers of information in an age of misleading, manipulated, and biased news and media. Participants will learn how a logical train of thought can turn illogical and about common fallacies by looking at different kinds of popular media and information sources. Participants will leave this session with increased personal awareness of misinformation in multiple forms with a focus on instructional ideas to teach students to analyze media and information critically using reasoning and evidence. Eligible for 5 hours of CTLE credit in pedagogy.

Key dates: Thursday, December 19, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
