Open to: All Grades 6 through 12 Active Educators (teachers, instructional leads, administrators).
Opportunity at a Glance: The NYCDOE Social Studies team has partnered with the News Literacy Project and The 911 Museum and Memorial to bring our teachers a very unique day of learning. Participants will receive guidance on how to incorporate News Literacy’s Checkology tasks to better support their own classroom goals. Teachers will explore ways to provide students with effective guidelines to help them sort fact from fiction and identify information they can trust in order to become informed consumers of media. Teachers will explore how to teach 9/11, as well as other topics in history that can be hard to teach. CTLE is available for this opportunity.
