Lead and Leadership: Public Health Lesson Sets for Mid- and Upper-Level ELLs

Opportunity at a Glance: This workshop is a presentation of Lead and Leadership, a new We Speak NYC Study Guide for mid- and upper-level ESOL students on the theme of public health, created in collaboration between the NYC Department of Health, CUNY and the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs. The lessons feature brief narrative and non-narrative readings and linked activities in a fillable PDF ready for use in synchronous or asynchronous classes online. The engaging stories, non-fiction readings and activities are also useful for teaching reading modalities and strategies.
