Teachers College: Learn How to Support Young Readers through Guided Reading

Open to: Grades K-6 Educators
Opportunity at a Glance: How can you bridge gaps and address delayed learning opportunities created by COVID, particularly when it comes to reading?

Guided reading — a highly effective approach to engaging and supporting students at all levels — can help you address reading deficits and support students who are struggling.  In this self-paced opportunity, participants investigate how this approach can fit within the scope of their instruction, and explore how to implement this practice in a variety of classrooms.  In addition, participants do the following:

1) Unpack systems and structures to promote guided reading;

2) Consider best practices for implementing lessons; and

3) Monitor progress toward your goals.

These are self-paced online courses.  You can on days/times of your choosing.

Key dates:  Courses start Monday July 26th.
Location: Online
Registration deadline: Friday August 2nd.
