Elementary STEM Lab – Launching a Year of Student Centered STEM Instruction

Opportunity at a Glance: Jumpstart the new year with strategies for using student-relevant phenomena to launch a unit and ignite excitement while uncovering student ideas, in addition, add to your toolbox for engaging students in the Science and Engineering Practices (SEPs) and integrating cross curricular skills to boost deeper learning in STEM, making student thinking visible and sustaining productive, student-centered discussions. 

Participants will leave with the following:

  1. A revised launch to a unit;
  2. Instructional strategies for engaging students in experimentation and data analysis; and
  3. Lesson ideas to energize your teaching.

The workshop runs synchronously followed by consultation time to support your professional learning goals.
