Opportunity at a Glance: This is a free virtual discussion about the importance of civics education.  It is presented in connection with Educating for American Democracy’s “Roadmap” for grades K-12 civics and history education.  National Conference on Citizenship CEO Caleb Gayle moderates.  Panelists include the following:  

  • Paul Carrese – Arizona State University: Founding director of the School of Civic and Economic Thought and Leadership at Arizona State University;
  • Professor Hasan Kwame Jeffries – Ohio State University: Host of the podcast Teaching Hard History: and;
  • Kei Kawashima-Ginsberg – Tufts University: The Newhouse Director of The Center for Information and Research on Civic Learning and Engagement
