Open to: Teachers interested in earning an additional Students with Disabilities Certification or Bilingual Extension
Opportunity at a Glance: The application for the NYC Department of Education’s Extended Certification Programs for the 2022-23 school year is now open. These programs enable qualified current DOE teachers to pursue a Students with Disabilities (grades B-2, 1-6, or 7-12) certification, or a Bilingual Extension (grades PK-12) through the completion of fully subsidized graduate-level coursework. By earning one of these additional licenses, teachers can increase their professional flexibility, and contribute to their 30-plus salary differential, while also gaining the skills and training to serve some of their highest-need students more effectively.
