Open to: All Teachers
Opportunity at a Glance: Every educator can empower their students to advocate for themselves, and be in control of their own bodies. Sex educators, Bianca I. Laureano and Cory Silverberg, will discuss the basics of body autonomy and why these concepts matter outside of the health/sex education classroom. During this presentation, participants will learn about how consent, gender, and self-expression may play out in math class, study hall, soccer practice, and other school spaces. Teachers in attendance will learn core concepts and be better prepared for these situations with appropriate language and strategies—even if you are not the designated sex educator.
