Instruments of Change: Arts, Culture, and Media in the Movement

Opportunity at a Glance: NYC Public Schools in collaboration with the National Civil Rights Museum, invite educators to dive into the indispensable role of arts and culture in the Civil Rights Movement, spanning from the impactful continuum of Black music to visual arts such as quilts and urban murals.  Participants will gain insights on connecting the museum experience to inspire students, helping them realize their potential as catalysts for positive change.  Additionally, the session will provide a comprehensive list of resources, featuring book titles suitable for grades PreK – 12 and teacher reading, along with links for online learning.
