Reading with Pride: 50 Years of Queer Children’s Picture Books

Open to: All Teachers
Opportunity at a Glance: Join us and learn about queer picture books published over the last 50 years, how to use these books as a lens to understand history, and how new picture books build on past legacies and forge new paths for queer representation.

Participants will explore Reading with Pride resources for educators, learn about recent LGBTQ+ picture books, and discover historic queer picture books—including works that are out of print or only available in our research collections—that trace the shifting attitudes, norms, and realities of queer life over a half century.

Eligible NYS teachers will receive 2 hours of CTLE credit.
