In honor of America 250, the NYC LGBTQ Historic Sites Project has released ten new short videos exploring how LGBTQ+ people organized for change—from the Progressive Era to marriage equality.
Designed for high school students and educators, these free videos bring place-based history to life through sites connected to people, movements, and events. Topics include civil rights, transgender activism, public health, and legislation, with connections to civics, humanities, and social studies. Explore 40+ additional videos on NYC’s LGBTQ+ history.
