Explore Oyster Research Stations with Billion Oyster Project

Open to: All Teachers
Opportunity at a Glance: Oyster Research Stations are structures that hang off of piers in New York Harbor, and that can be pulled up and observed by you and your students.  During this training participants will do the following:

  • Learn how to collect data about oyster growth and biodiversity, and consider how to monitor an ORS in a way that meets your students’ need;
  • Explore and model BOP’s accompanying free ORS lessons; and
  • Connect and brainstorm with other teachers.

In addition, participants will leave with a kit of monitoring materials and next steps for signing up for an ORS site.
