Opportunity at a Glance: Join the NYCDOE Department of Social Studies and Civics to explore the Civics for All curriculum and their latest comic, How to Be an Action Activist 2. Participants will also enjoy a guided tour of the Pets and the City exhibition at the New York Historical Society and explore connections to Civics for All curricular resources. During the workshop, participants will do the following:
- discuss the importance of understanding communities;
- learn how to guide students to create positive change; and
- learn how empowered individuals can contribute to this process.
In addition, weather permitting, participants will also engage in a community walk to learn more about the area.
