Open to: NYCDOE Grades K-8 Teachers (Teachers, Instructional leads, and Administrators)
Opportunity at a Glance: Join the NYCDOE Department of Social Studies and Civics for an engaging workshop.
During the workshop participants will do the following:
- Explore the Civics for All curriculum and the comic, How to Be an Action Activist 2.
- Enjoy a guided tour of the Democracy Matters exhibition and explore connections to Civics for All curricular resources.
- Discuss the importance of understanding communities, guiding students to create positive change, and learning how empowered individuals can contribute to this process.
Weather permitting, participants will also engage in a community walk to learn more about the area through a hands-on activity.
