Teaching and Learning with Latin American History and Culture

Open to: Grades K – 12 Educators (Teachers, Instructional Leads, Administrators)
Opportunity at a Glance: Join the Department of Social Studies and Civics for a full day of professional learning dedicated to the study of Latin American history and culture.  During this professional learning session
participants will:

  • explore relevant Passport to Social Studies and Civics for All lessons;
  • engage with profiles from Hidden Voices Latines;
  • immerse in comics that feature diverse stories from Latin American history; and
  • practice instructional strategies to enliven Social Studies learning for all students.

In addition, participants will receive a guided tour of the Arts of the Ancient Americas exhibitions in the Met’s newly renovated Michael C. Rockefeller Wing.
