Opportunity at a Glance: We will introduce a new set of open-access curriculum materials designed to teach computational techniques in the context of astrophysics. This scaffolded mini-unit presents coding as a tool for scientific inquiry, providing an accessible entry point for students who may be new to computational thinking. Participants will engage with the materials alongside a museum astrophysicist and collaborate to identify best practices for implementation in their own classrooms. By integrating this module into instruction, educators can help students understand how coding is used in scientific research, develop skills that are increasingly valuable in today’s workforce, and explore career pathways in STEM fields.
