Opportunity at a Glance: Join our free 1-day Professional Learning (PL) workshops for teachers working with grades 3-12 students during the Fall of 2026. Teachers will receive the following:
- a materials toolkit
- 5 hours of CTLE credit
- eligibility to receive a free classroom residency
The content will cover local climate science, policy, and action, particularly regarding energy production. Hands-on, experiment-based activities include an introduction to circuits, solar field study, wind turbine design, and battery energy storage.
Additional PL opportunities include an Urban Energy Infrastructure Ferry Tour, Mapping Air Quality in partnership with Columbia University, and more!
Key dates:
- Friday October 16, Monday October 19, or Tuesday October 27 from 9:00a.m. – 2:00p.m.
- Wednesday November 4 and Thursday November 5 from 9:00a.m. – 2:00p.m.
- Tuesday November 10 from 9:00a.m.- 2:00p.m.
- Thursday November 12 from 9:00a.m.- 2:00p.m.
- Tuesday January 19 from 9:00a.m. -2:00p.m.
