Socratic Dialogue in the Virtual STEM Classroom

Open to: STEM Teachers, Science Teachers
Opportunity at a Glance: Why do we ask questions anyway?  Socratic dialogue is a way of both intentionally and spontaneously curating a student’s path to understanding – by reflecting and expanding on students’ own questions.

During this workshop, we will explore the seven types of Socratic questions and how to build on these in a hybrid teaching context.  We will also, talk through sample student-teacher questioning transcripts, take time to work with participant launch phenomena, and target and tackle specific challenges to questioning.

Join us for a workshop that will help you refine your Socratic questioning skills to inspire and co-generate thinking with your students!
