Opportunity at a Glance: Billion Oyster Project’s flagship ORS Program is designed for teachers in schools or organizations, and interested members of the public (aka “community scientists”) who want to be engaged in hands-on learning and a citywide effort to restore the New York Harbor Estuary.
This two-part training (one remote session and one in-person session) will teach participants how to do the following:
- Track oyster growth;
- Identify organisms living among the oysters; and
- Help you feel comfortable at the waterfront with children.
Participants will receive scientific investigation tools, inquiry based curricula, and our brand new New York Harbor Species ID Guide.
Key dates: One remote and one-in person training workshop. Dates/times vary based on chosen events (from 2 offerings) at the end of August
Location: Zoom Event and in-person location to be shared at least a week before the workshop
