Opportunity at a Glance: This institute will focus on integrating culturally responsive-sustaining education (CR-SE) and academic language into grade-level standards-based instruction for multilingual learners (MLs).  Framed around the book Culturally Responsive Teaching for Multilingual Learners: Tools for Equity participants will explore and apply topics ranging from the following: 

  • Integrating CR-SE into instruction;
  • Assets-based approaches to instruction; and
  • Strategies for building MLs’ academic language.

These sessions will integrate research, best practice, and leave participants with practical tools that can apply to your classrooms the next day.
