The Hidden Curriculum: How Can a Classroom Be More Culturally Inclusive?

Open to: 6–12 Grade Teachers
Opportunity at a Glance:  This workshop will focus on Zaretta Hammond’s ideas around how our learning environment becomes the “second teacher” in the room. 
During this two-day session, participants will do the following:

  • Learn to explore the power of artifacts in their classroom environment;
  • Learn strategies for evaluating their physical space to align with culturally relevant pedagogy; and
  • Share ideas with other educators about forming strong connections with students before engaging in curricular content.

All are welcome, especially new teachers.

This two-day session is free.  Participants are eligible for 3 CTLE credits upon completion of the workshop.
Key dates:  Two Tuesdays: April 5 and 12 from 5:00p.m. – 6:30p.m.
