Meet the Creators of the PBS Documentary CURED

Open to: All Teachers
Opportunity at a Glance: Until 1973, every gay person was automatically classified by medical professionals as mentally ill and in need of a cure. The award-winning, Emmy-nominated PBS documentary CURED tells the story of the activists who challenged that diagnosis — and won.  Join us in welcoming writers and directors Patrick Sammon and Bennett Singer for this interactive, multimedia event to see clips from the film, learn more about this important aspect of US history, and engage in discussion.
